Have you ever had the pleasure of singing with a group of people and felt that amazing connection and oneness from joining in unison through our voices? Or does the thought of singing your heart out terrify you? I love to sing in the shower, while I am driving on my way to work in the morning, but I was not always like this. In the past two years of my life, different opportunities and people have come into my life that have inspired me to use my voice more and more, and it has made me more aware of just how closed off many of us are to expressing ourselves through our voices. I was inspired to create a CD of guided meditations after my clients would repeatedly ask me to record my voice which they said helped them to relax during our healing sessions where I...

Have you made enough time in your life to ask yourself, "what is my dream life?" Then taken the time to listen for the answers and visualized that dream life? Other helpful questions: What does my ultimate dream life feel like? Who are the people in my dream life? What am I doing in my dream life? Dare to ask and you will definitely manifest some answers, maybe a little quicker than you may expect! One of my dreams is to offer life enhancing and empowering retreats all around the world! I had envisioned that goal just a few weeks before Jennifer Grace had asked me to be a...

Did you know heart disease is the number one leading cause of death in the USA? While 1 in 31 American women dies from breast cancer each year, 1 in 3 dies of heart disease. Much of the reasons why we die of heart disease is diet, belief and lifestyle related. We can prevent heart disease by quitting smoking, managing our blood sugar, getting our blood pressure under control, lowering our cholesterol, staying active, losing weight and eating healthy. A lot of these behavioral changes would be easier to accomplish if we valued and loved ourselves more. Too often we place other people in our lives before ourselves. We forget to make time to prioritize self-love, daily exercise, food that nourishes our heart and soul, and managing our stress levels. Sometimes we do not prioritize nurturing our emotional heart and this affects our heart health also. We can...

How To Create Calm Amidst The Chaos Today more than ever we are bombarded with distractions that pull us away from the present moment. We function at our best when we are engaged in the present moment. For example, you are having breakfast with the tv on, then the phone rings while you receive a text. Does that relax you or bring you into a state of stress? We turn on the computer only to find that we have 10 tweets, 5 facebook messages and a whole bunch of new emails from 4 different email addresses. Is it just me, but did life get a little bit busier? At times I feel I am swirling in a tornado of social media outlets in a virtual reality of chaos. My personal relationships and present moment awareness of myself and my life sometimes is placed on the back burner to tend...

Reflections on How Nature Heals and Inspires by Michelle Alva For the first time in my life, I have been more consistently LIVING the experience of ALIVE. I notice when I am thinking too much I am missing out on the beauty of what is right in front of me and all around me. I catch myself when I am getting trapped in my judgements, my criticisms, my unmet expectations of myself or of others. I have been telling myself, "you are not your thoughts, you are the observer of your thoughts.‚Äù This has helped me greatly to flow my emotions and release the trap of ruminating in my head or bringing up past memories that pull me away from the present moment. Today, I went to the beach after dropping off my daughter off at school. I drove to the North Beach park of Crandon Park in...

Allow Your Soul To Run Wild and Free Our soul is a part of us that is beyond our bodies and beyond our minds, beyond space and time. The part of you that is observing your thoughts is your soul. When we live as "the witness of our thoughts and the observer of the "stories" that we are creating in our minds, we get to live connected and aware of who we are. For we are timeless, we are not the illusion of the mind. We are so much more than this, yet for many of us, we allow ourselves to be chained and weighed down by the shackles of our beliefs and thoughts. A great book I recently read, called The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer goes into great detail about this. Life is the highest spiritual path and also the greatest place to...

Shrink and Tone Your Waist While Energizing Yourself and Connecting To The Core Of Who You Are written by Michelle Alva, Holistic Physical Therapist, Yoga Therapist and Energy Healer. Do you sit for more than 3-4 hours per day? Did you know that your abdominal corset and pelvic floor muscles basically fall asleep while we sit? When we sit at a desk for too long, slouch and sink into our couch these muscles fall asleep.   Our abdominal and pelvic floor muscles are two important muscle groups that work together to create a dynamic corset of stability for our low back and our pelvis. These muscles however sometimes become atrophied and weak from poor posture, poor chronic sitting postures and lack of exercise and activity, especially after giving birth. We can view the waist area of the body as the middle or "center" of our body and when tone and active...

Before you even read this article, close your eyes and ask yourself this question: "On a zero to 10 scale, how much love do you feel LOVE for your body?" Zero is UGH, I don't like my body at all. 10 is I love my body exactly as it is. Reflect on where your love meter reads. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy and criticizer for ourselves. Sometimes we are the best friend or biggest fan for ourselves. We have a choice, to bring more acceptance or more stress to ourselves. The way in which we view our bodies greatly impacts our overall health. Did you know the way you feel about your body affects every cell in your body? The more you accept, love and appreciate your body, the stronger you feel and the healthier your immune system is? We feel less pain and...
